Peter Crouch’s Robot Dance

Did somebody say football?

I picked up on this nice footy related post from Heather Hopkins at Hitwise yesterday which graphs some interesting search trends around World Cup keyword search traffic.

There are things you would expect to see like high traffic for queries about Beckham’s hairstyle and the latest on Rooney’s foot, but check out the graph line for Peter Crouch related search terms. Prior to May 27th, searches for Peter Crouch were average to say the least, but from the 27th May the graph line skyrockets even eclipsing searches for Ronaldinho

It was about this time that England played Hungary in a friendly, the game in which Peter Crouch unleashed his robotic dancing goal celebration on the world! I think the graph illustrates just how popular that robot dance is going to be this summer - that of course assumes that the 12 foot bean pole actually scores some goals!
